I haven't posted here in a while, since my kitchen has been out of commission & all... but hey, guess what?

New Cupcake Creations!

I've had a crazy few days of birthday orders this week!
This is what came about from all the running around and hard work in the kitchen!







Hedgehog cupcakes!
These spiky little babes are made up of a buttermilk-spice cake,
raspberry preserves, cocoa cream cheese frosting & cinnamon toasted almonds :)
Yum!

Also...





Another giant cupcake order came in!
This one is Chocolate with Fudge Filling and a piped Vanilla Frosting rose.
It's surrounded by 24 decorated chocolate covered strawberries & has a
chocolate plaque with a friendly birthday message.
This one was a fun project :)

'Red' Velvet Rainbow Cake

So I've been experiencing a lot with a southern red velvet cake recipe. It's delicious, really.
The cake has a light but buttery crumb and is perfect with a vanilla cream cheese frosting. You may have checked out my earlier velvet cake confections in the Christmas post and I'm still going strong, whipping up velvet cakes left & right!
So here's a peak at yesterday's big bake:

Nautical Cupcakes

Phew!
I just had my largest order to date-
120 cupcakes!

They were made up for the wonderful Hart family
in honor of a very special surprise birthday.
I think they came out great! :)










I must say, I'm very proud of this order.

12 o'clock is *Vanilla Bean with 'Deep Blue Sea' whipped Vanilla Old Fashioned Frosting and Nautical accent. Followed by-
*Lemon Curd with Meringue Frosting
*Pistachio with Vanilla-Nut Cream Cheese Frosting
*Dark Chocolate with Red Berry & White Chocolate Chip Frosting
*Vanilla-Spice with Peanut Butter filling and Salted Caramel & Whipped Peanut Butter Frosting

Sweets & Family

I've been super busy with school lately and itching to bake. Luckily, part of my "homework" was to do just that! I'm giving a speech on 'How to Make the Perfect Cake' and decided little cupcake samples would be quite nice. So I whipped up a batch of chocolate cakes with injected raspberry preserves and a cream cheese frosting to top them off :)

My mother decided there should be a photo opportunity, so here are our modeling pics!

Baby Shower Cake!

I just put together a cake for a baby shower!

Lobster Cookies!

Today I finished an order for a wedding rehearsal dinner.

The bride & groom are hosting a lobster bake for all their guests

and ordered a big batch of sugar cookies as souvenirs!

The cookies are simple, sugar & butter recipe biscuits

with royal icing and candy embellishments.

They have chocolate chip eyes, red sugar scales, red-hot tail

fins and gummy worms and fish as their suppers.

Summer Bakes-- Fresh Fruit!

Today I went to visit a local farm stand in a neighboring town called Gator Creek Farms. I found some lovely peaches there and just had to buy them! They were so pretty and bright :) These juicy jems soon found their way into a mixture of oats, brown sugar and cinnamon crumbs, creating a wonderful summer peach crisp!

A Lovely Cake For A Lovely Boy!

So it is officially my wonderful boyfriend's 23rd birthday!

His name is Tanner & he's just the tops :)

We're in Cape Cod celebrating as we speak, but before leaving home

a surprise party was had with friends & this yummy cake!

Simple butter cake layered with fresh strawberries

& topped off with whipped chocolate frosting!

Pool Party Oreo Cupcakes

This isn't a super big post, but here's a snapshot of what I made yesterday

afternoon. They were some mighty delicious cupcakes that came into

attendance at a pool party in the evening.

Ali's Flowery Birthday Cake

A wonderful girl I know just turned another year older. In celebration of this big day and her sunshiney personality, I created a cake covered in colorful flowers! The inside is white cake layered & injected with raspberry preserves and the outside is a substantial coating of semi-sweet chocolate whipped ganache frosting. I'm sure she's going to love it!

The Thanksgiving Beach Party!

A few months ago I was invited to a weekend schindig in Boston area. The party theme was 'Thanksgiving Beach Party!' in which guests would, among other things, dress as indians ( like I did, shown in the picture above), swim in a kiddie pool, have social drinks & indulge in a biannual thanksgiving sit-down spread. Of course, I had to bring something to the event. Here are pictures of my creations!
